IT'S TIME TO RETURN GOOD OLD ASS WHUPPINGS TO MEMPHIS CITY SCHOOLS

It's not often that I agree with anything that school board member K.T. Whalum says but is the instance of returning corporal punishment to Memphis City Schools I must say bravo!!!

It was crazy to remove the only tool of discipline that some children in the system ever see while the crime rate continues to rise and the thought of building new prisons are ever present in the minds of law enforcement officials. Perhaps a little beating of the ass will keep some law abiding person from being beaten by a out of control undisciplined child.

The do gooders want to complain about corporal punishment being cruel,But what about the teachers who daily fear for their safety at a Memphis City School due to the fact that these thugs know that no matter what they do there is no recourse for their actions.

Memphis City Schools does not report the numerous teachers who daily are threaten with bodily harm or who are attacked by students, neither do they report the number of assaults other students receive at the hands of disorderly students who should be in a reform school instead of an environment where others want to learn.

It's time to return "Good Old Ass Whupping" to Memphis City Schools and allow the bleeding hearts to go some where and receive a blood transfusion. A study done by ABC News in 2009 states that the public by a 2-1 margin approves of spanking children in school and half of them say they do it sometimes to their own kids, so why not bring back a tool that may help bring order to the school system in the form of student behavior and may just save a kid's life..... His or her own.

BLEEDING HEARTS? <------- These are people within your ranks, Democrats. This failure (wild, spoiled, and out of control children) is on the backs of the people your Party.

Conservatives understand "spare the rod, spoil the child." And why do you continue to let your fellow bleeding heart liberal Democrats ruin this country with their nonsense and idiocy? I don't understand.

For once I am in agreement with you on something. Ass-whupping worked fine for generations, but then the "social engineers" came up with chit like "time-out" and "denied privileges" to punish kids. I didn't get paddled at school, but I certainly did get it at home when it was deserved. But then, unlike the majority of you spooks, I had a daddy at home to handle his parental duties. Father's Day in Memphis must have been mass confusion.

These children now and days aint going for that...it is going to be so many assault thru out the school system.... and they way some of these no good teacher react toward these students I wouldn't want them to hit mines... without my permission...

It all started with Willie Herenton when he sent the school system into a tailspin.

Here we go again - the slave mentality. All the studies show that spanking just increases violence. You take a belt to a defenseless child and you create an animal. Violence does not solve our problems. If you are ignorant and un-educated and dumb - you think spanking is the answer. The more educated people know better. Violence breeds more violence.

Some "smart person" wrote: These children now and days aint going for that...it is going to be so many assault thru out the school system.... and they way some of these no good teacher react toward these students I wouldn't want them to hit mines... without my permission...

First and foremost, I do not believe any teacher attends college for 4 years to become a child abuser and/or lose his/her job.

You stated that teachers are "no good" however parents like you (who don't know the difference between mine or mines and/or lack basic grammar skills) make it really hard for teachers to effectively manage their classrooms and educate the students.

How can teachers enforce education, decorum, character, etc. at school when it is not being properly enforced at home?

Stop expecting teachers to be magicians! You send them your "best" and they do their best in spite of the fact that your "best" happens to be a 15 year old with the behavior of a 5 year old. Did I happen to mention that this 15 year old cannot read?

Better yet, what about when this 15year old runs out of his ADD medicine (which he didn't really need in the first place, but being that his mammy has figured out that she can receive a disability check if her son takes "that" little white pill everyday...)

See, you making me go there!Further, it is a shame that you even suggested that students are not going for the reinstatement of "spankings" as if students are greater than the teachers/adults who happen to be paving the way for student success.

I'm sooo sick and tired of parents like you...blame it all on the teacher, but you're 37 years old with your picture on Facebook wearing blue contacts, a blond nappy weave, and tatoos scattered across your body BUT you have the nerve to wonder why your child is messed up in the head!

Mercy! SOME parents are so blind that they do not see why their children behave in undesirable ways! Teachers are in the classroom dodging punches, being verbally abused by students, etc. Excuse my French but..."Where they do that at?!"

Let's get real people! Some of these students need a good ol fashion ass beating and some of their parents need an ass beating, too. You don't call the teacher when your son makes straight F's, but you want to call when a teacher takes a cell phone that the child should not have in the first place.

Teachers are human, too! Don't think that teachers are robots without emotions. Teachers should not be subjected to abuse because parents do not want to do their part! If your child can't read, the parent failed! If your child can't do math, the parent failed! If your child is disruptive, the parent failed! Stop buying expensive tennis shoes, instead pay for reading lessons! Stop buying cell phones, instead buy a lap top! Stop going to the club, instead stay home and spend quality time with your child! And stop blaming teachers and look at you...you're the parent! Why do you think teachers can achieve in a year what your lazy azz couldn't achieve in 18 years! I'm sick of it! Absolutely sick of these "sorry" azz parents trying to tell teachers how to do their jobs, but you (the parent) don't have a job! You go to college; you pass the Praxis; and then you tell teachers what to do!

Do you think teachers enjoy the abuse they endure from students, parents, and significant others! We need paddling and if you keep posting such messages, you need to be have your azz spanked, too. Now go ahead and respond...I'm sure you'll have a response just as ignorant as your last one! You really need to consider the message you're sending to your child and/or children!

Well, honey... All teachers are educated and I am POSITIVE that these "more educated" teachers want "good old azz beatings" returned to the school. Further, do you work and/or volunteer in a high-needs school? If so, the principal must have kept you on the "safe side" of the school! Defenseless! Who told you these "poor kids" were defenseless? Propaganda, dear! Pure propaganda! I've witnessed a student (excuse my Spanish) mop the floor with a teacher's ass! Further, what's so violent about a tap on the bottom or a tap on the hand! How did we learn we should not touch fire? What do teachers when they've exhausted all resources? Let me guess? Call the parent! Honey, hold your breath! It's funny how people who do not work with at risk youth in high needs schools try to tell teachers what they should and shouldn't do in the classroom! Funny how people who won't even volunteer in "rough tough" schools have the nerve to offer their opinion, but fail to offer a minute of their time!

How dare you blame this issue on one person! He's not the father of each and every child being schooled in MCS! Further, we can't blame the man for wanting to excel in life! It wasn't his responsibility to raise our kids! It's our responsibility to ensure that our kids receive a valuable education!

And Rascal, if you're so anti spook then why are you on this ite posting messages! Let me guess, if you can't beat them, join them! Clearly, you can't beat us ((Obama Rocks!) and you too damn dumb to join us! Lol! I bet your cute face is turning pink! Lol.

Just because a half-black man (who was not part of being a slave in America) is president don't give you permission to be a racist. By the way, Obama sucks (not his skin color but his incompetence) and is no doubt, a one-termer so enjoy! Lol.

"It's our responsibility to ensure that our kids receive a valuable education!"

There is nothing valuable about an education at a Memphis City School. That is why it is free. Most hardworking people send their children to private schools in avoidance of that "valuable education".

" . . . Further, we can't blame the man for wanting to excel in life! . . . "

John Ford wanted to excel in life and it appears he will be in a cell for the rest of his life.

Are both of your lips pink? Or just one lip? Are the bottom of your feet white? Or are they black?

SEE HOW STUPID RACISM IS? We all can go back and forth with the racial name-calling bullshit but it's not productive at all and is pretty ignorant.

Until the first time a white school administrator paddles a black kid, then we all know Thad will be screaing racism. And do you really think that "ass Whuppins" are going to help? Look at yourself Thad, I am sure you got a few whuppins and you are a deadbeat dad, have a criminal record, drive around without a license, can barely write a legible story, or in other words, you are a typical black.

Corporal punishment is only a START. The city schools should also implement public HANGINGS because frankly, some of those kids are not going any place but down.

A few years back I was stopped at a red light with a city school bus stopped in the lane right next to me. The kids were hanging out the windows and the bus driver didn't care.

I had my window down to get some fresh air. Next thing you know, one of those heathens SPIT on me. That big, nasty pile of filthy saliva ran all the way down my face onto my dress shirt. Some of it even got onto mouth. No telling if the kid had any diseases.

I got out and complained to the bus driver and she said it wasn't her problem. The kids all were laughing and saying, "We in charge! We in control! Sucka!"

I went to the school and nobody could do a thing. They were all afraid of the bad parents who complain about any kind of discipline.

The principal said, "Now you see the kind of animals we deal with every day. Some of them aren't fit for cages. And it starts with the parents at home, who are often even worse animals."

Paddling is a start. Too bad they can't also paddle the parents. Many of them deserve it just as much.

ITS NOT A BLAME GAME.. IT IS REALITY..... I AM NOT BLAMING THE TEACHERS FOR EVERYTHING... I DO KNOW IF YOU FIGHT VIOLENCE WITH VIOLENCE.. WHAT DO YOU GET..NO WHERE... IT IS SO CLEAR... THAT THE REACTION OF THE ADULT IS THE REFLECTION OF THE CHILD... SO WHAT, ITS NOT A LACK OF GRAMMAR SKILLS...IT CALL "TYPO ERROR" BUT OF COURSE YOU WOULDN'T KNOW ABOUT THAT RIGHT...HUH.. CAUSE YOU ARE SO PERFECT HUH.. BUT ANYWAYS.. LIKE I SAID AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN... SOME OF THESE TEACHER ARE RAW AND FOUL... AND I WOULDN'T WANT THEM TO HIT MINE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION... AND AS FOR YOU ... I AM SURE YOU WAS ONE OF THOSE CHILDREN THAT DIDNT WANT TO BE SPANKED @ SCHOOL AND ALWAYS CAUSE TROUBLE... CAUSE YOU CAN'T LISTEN TO THE NEXT PERSON OPINION WITHOUT JUDGING... SO GO PLAY WITH YOUR TOYS...HONNN

I guess you told them - June 28, 2010 10:44 PM - but I still don't believe in school officials spanking students. Discipline should be done at home!!!
