COUNTY MAYOR JOE FORD TO HOLD TOWNHALL MEETING MONDAY ON "THE THADDEUS MATTHEWS SHOW"

Shelby County Mayor Joe Ford in his continuing commitment to seek solutions to the extreme funding crisis faced at the MED is holding a series of Town Hall meeting around Shelby County with residents to get their input and to seek possible solutions from concerned citizens.

To reach a large portion of the citizens of Shelby County and to have more than the hour and a half that is being allotted at the various site around the county Mayor Ford has agreed to appear Monday Feb 22,on my show "The Thaddeus Matthews Show".

Mayor Ford's only conversation will be about the MED and not his bid for election to the position he now serves in. Citizens will be allowed to call in at 2605926 and voice their concerns and to give their input. Tune in Monday to AM 990 KWAM from 4-7 PM for MAYOR FORD'S 3 HOUR TOWN HALL MEETING ON THE MED.

OTHER ISSUES DEMAND SOME TIME

It's too bad that Joe Ford intends to restrict his town hall meeting on Monday on ways to fund The Med.
This is getting to be a tired, worn-out issue with sufficient proposals that have already been made.

What old Joe needs is another issue that will make him a frontrunner in the county mayoral race. Let him turn his attention to the explosive issue of auto inspections, which are on the minds of all city motorists burdened with this farce.

Although the auto inspections are a city function, Joe Ford could get together with A. C. Wharton and develop a plan to close these dinosaurs once and for all.

There are simply too many exclusively county and out-of-state uninspected vehicles polluting the air in Memphis for these exclusive city inspections to do any good.

For some reason, Memphis politicians have acted like sheep when it comes to the issue of auto inspections in Memphis. Looks like old Joe is just going to be another sheep.

WHILE OTHER ISSUES MAY DEMAND ATTENTION THIS TOWN HALL MEETING IS SOLELY FOR THE DISCUSSION OF THE MED PER ME.

AS FOR THE INSPECTION STATION FORD MEETING WITH WHARTON IS A USELESS WASTE OF TIME SEEING THAT THE COUNTY MAYOR HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER IT AND THOSE THAT LIVE IN THE COUNTY DONT USE THE STATIONS

Will Joe tell us why he lied about running for office?

Matthews, you just can't get it straight. There are lots of people who pay county taxes because they live in the city of Memphis as well as the county of Shelby.

People of Memphis, Thaddeus says you don't even use the inspection station.

No wonder the posts by the host of this blog gets little response. Thaddeus just can't get anything straight. You are right though, it would be useless to expect any help from a liar like Joe Ford.

Hey Thaddeus!
John Ford is now back in Memphis at a Federal facility.

Hopefully all of these peckerwood news people will get off his jock strap.

Half of them are as queer as a 3 dollar bill anyway and got nothing to do!
Look at that Matthews guy on 3. You have never and will never, see him with a woman!
He's a watchdog alright.....through the peep holes in the stalls down at the Greyhound!

STILL A GOOD ISSUE FOR JOE

Although Shelby Countians who live outside the Memphis city limits do not use the auto inspection stations, this would still be a good issue for the county mayor to turn his attention to.

After all, doesn't Joe Ford live inside the Memphis city limits and still have a stake in the auto inspections controversy? He should at least speak out and let us know how he feels about this ridiculous ritual carried on the shoulders of Memphis motorists.

Better still, he should become actively involved in any plan to modify or close these auto inspection centers. Extending the hours at these relics is not enough for an idea whose time has come and is long gone.

If Joe Ford could come up with a plan to end auto inspections in this city, he might be able to continue as mayor for four more years. Issues such as funding The Med will not keep him in office.

I don't usually agree with you on much, but this effort sounds like the kind of thing I wish you would do more often. Good luck.

AUTO INSPECTION WORKERS
NEED THE MED

Joe Ford will not be able to restrict his town hall meeting to finding ways to fund The Med when there are so many other related issues.

For example, what about the general health of the auto inspection station workers? These poor city employees have to stand on their feet all day long choking and gagging on automobile fumes.

Have you noticed that you seldom see the same workers at the auto inspection stations from year to year? That's because respiratory illnesses and other diseases caused by constant exposure to automobile fumes have taken their toll.

We are exposing the auto inspection workers to emissions deadlier than tobacco smoke.

So it is vital that The Med stay open. But let us not forget the other related issues that need discussion.

Willie could have installed booths and computer controlled tools if he had not been so busy setting up his cronies in 100K+ jobs.

Let those auto inspection station workers watch the TV channel that features dirty jobs. Or better yet, do you think those workers should just be allowed to sit on their front curb while spitting and chewing as they await the mailman to deliver them a check?

Let me see now...

John Ford is moved back to the Memphis area. Finds himself in a half-way house or restricted incarceration situation, but allowed to seek employment.

Tipping "Avoid the issues" Joe is elected Mayor. Hires old John as Director of his Second Chance program and Bam! Old John is right back on top of Shelby County politics: running the county mayor's office from the second chance cloak room.

Don't tell me they can't find a way. Who would have thought an entrusted bodyguard, caught red-handed with drug money would return making twice her salary as a division Deputy Director.

Memphis politics and fanthom crime equals the third worse city in the country. The entire country sees it.

By the way, what kind of calculators are they using at the U. of M. where everybody else sees us as the armpit of the country. Almost every citizen says they afraid to leave home, but crime is down in double digits?

Nut Bush arithmetic?

This guy and his boss, Harold Ford, Sr., needs his ass whooped in the up
coming election. Willie Herenton has already made Memphis the third most miserable city in the country. Voters let's not make things worse. Get rid of Willie and Ding Dong Matthews.

Yep, privatize the Med and the business that owns it will come hat in hand to Nashville begging for the taxpayer subsidies that will ensure their profit.

And you know what? They'll most likely get every single penny they want. It's the American way--the free market, and all that.

The financial problem of the med would be solved if they would require payment before admission or the back seat of a squad car if you don't pay immediately after using it's medical services. That's the way it is done at the Vets, at Kroger, Yellow Cab as you need food to live and transportation to make a living. Why should medical care be a free ride?
